Description
This was a commission for a girl in the class above me at school, a drawing of her daughter.
I worked hard for a few days, instead of my normal a little bit at a time over many weeks/months.
This is one of two commissions I finished this Christmas.
Technical details:
Size: A3
Pencils: Staedtler; HB 2B + 4B-8B, and Prismacolor 3B
Time: Well, I didn't keep track, but I tried to count now, and my boyfriend and I figured I've been sitting on that huge square pillow on the floor for about thirty hours, over almost two weeks.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactReally great pencil work here! You have a really good sense of contrast between lights and darks, especially around the eyes and on the sweater. The eyes are really great and I'm glad that they seem to be the most detailed (they are the windows to the soul, after all).
While you did an amazing job on the child I feel the piece lacks a bit because of the background. I understand from the Artists Comments that it was a commission work and not really for the whole artistic value of the piece..but even a bit more blending to hide some of the pencils lines, I feel, would have improved the background and not made it such a distraction. Don't let this discourage you, though. I mean no disrespect..you are obviously very talented and could have done a better background if you had seen fit..I just felt the need to point this out since you had requested a critique <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/a…" width="15" height="15" alt="
